Car hire with driver covers two different needs, and you can mix them across one trip. The first is the classic airport run: a fixed-price, one-way transfer from DPS to your accommodation, with the car and driver dedicated to your party. The second is the day itinerary: the same car and driver staying with you — temples in the morning, a long lunch in the hills, sunset somewhere west-facing — while you keep your bags in the boot and your plans flexible.

Transfers are published at fixed USD rates below. Day itineraries are quoted individually, because an honest price depends on where you actually want to go: a loop around the southern beaches and a full-day run to Kintamani are very different days for the car and driver. Send your rough plan to the desk and you get an itemised quote back before you commit — no meter anxiety, no “we discuss later”.

One-way airport rates — the anchor prices

Standard car, Toyota Innova or similar, up to 4 guests. Larger and plusher vehicles priced per destination on the full table.

Each rate is per vehicle and includes the driver, nameboard meet & greet, flight tracking, tolls, airport parking, air-conditioning and bottled water. An extra stop en route — a supermarket before a remote villa, a viewpoint, a pharmacy — is a flat $10. Round trips booked together save 5%, night pickups (22:00–05:00) add $5, and cancellation is free up to 24 hours. The full destination list is on the airport transfer price table.

The cars you can hire with a driver

Why hire the driver, not just the car

Self-driving in Bali is legal with the right licence — and that is the first catch: foreign visitors need a valid International Driving Permit alongside their home licence, and police checks on tourist-heavy roads do happen. The deeper catch is the driving itself. Traffic is dense, scooters weave on every side, signage is thin outside the resort belts, parking at popular sights is its own negotiation, and Google’s time estimate is a work of optimism at 5 pm around Canggu. A hired driver dissolves all of it: you are dropped at the entrance while the parking problem stays with someone paid to solve it, and the drive home after a long day is somebody else’s job.

There is also the arithmetic most visitors do after one white-knuckle day: a rental car plus fuel plus parking plus the stress rarely undercuts a driver by as much as expected, and the driver comes with local judgement — which warung is actually good, which road is flooded this week — that no rental counter includes. If you land at a difficult hour, pairing your first day’s car with fast-track arrival at $65 per guest gets the whole party through the terminal to the waiting car with a porter on the bags.

Keeping the same driver across your trip

Guests who hire a driver for one day tend to ask for the same driver again, and the desk encourages it: a driver who already knows your pace, your coffee order and which child gets carsick plans the second day better than any itinerary document. Tell the desk your trip dates upfront and it will structure the quote across the days you actually need — a transfer-only arrival day, two or three touring days, a rest day with no car at all, then the airport run home with the round-trip saving applied. You pay for the days you use, not a package built around someone else’s holiday.
