For red-eye departures with a pickup between 22:00 and 05:00, roads are empty and the drive sits at the low end of the range — a $5 night surcharge applies. One caveat nobody should learn the hard way: on Nyepi, Bali’s annual day of silence, the airport closes and no vehicles may drive at all, so travel a day either side.

Where We Collect You in Sanur
Your chauffeur comes to you — but Sanur’s layout means “to you” looks slightly different street by street:
- Hotel lobbies — for the resorts along Jl. Danau Tamblingan and Jl. Hang Tuah, we pull into the driveway and load at the door. Ask reception to have your bags down five minutes early.
- Villas in the back streets — Mertasari, Sindhu, and the lanes off Jl. Danau Poso often have gates too narrow for a van. Send us a Google pin with your booking; your driver will message when he’s at the gate.
- Beach-path stays — if your bungalow fronts the promenade, meet your driver at the nearest access lane. He’ll come to your door and help wheel the luggage out.

Leaving Sanur: Traffic and the Toll-Road Trick
Getting out of Sanur is rarely the problem — the village streets are calm at almost any hour. The variable is the Ngurah Rai Bypass, which carries you south past the Suwung mangroves toward the airport.
On weekday mornings between 07:00 and 09:00, commuter traffic funnels toward Denpasar and the bypass slows around Pesanggaran. The heavier squeeze is the evening: from 16:00 to 19:00 the whole of south Bali is on the move, and this is when the drive uses every one of its 60 minutes. Outside those windows, expect something closer to the middle of the range.
When the bypass does clog, our chauffeurs have an escape most meter taxis skip: the Bali Mandara toll road. It picks up near Benoa Harbour and runs on stilts over the bay straight to the airport arm, bypassing the worst of the bottleneck. The toll is already in your fixed fare, so the decision costs you nothing — your driver simply takes whichever road is moving.
One more Sanur-specific quirk: parts of the beach strip are one-way, so your driver may head briefly north before turning for the airport. He isn’t padding the ride — the fare is fixed regardless, which is exactly why we price it that way.
