Both Indonesian ride-hailing apps work at Bali airport, with pickups from designated zones rather than the arrivals curb. For a solo traveller with cabin luggage and an Indonesian SIM already working, this is often the cheapest door — the app shows the fare before you order, and the walk to the pickup point is manageable. Hotel shuttles

Five-star resorts run their own arrival cars, quoted per booking and charged to the room. The car will match the brand, the greeter will know your name, and the price will reflect both. Which option should you pick?

Landed with no plan at all — walk to the taxi desk and be done with it. Arriving as a family, landing after 22:00, heading to a villa whose address is a Google Maps pin down a lane, or connecting to a boat with a deadline — pre-book a private car, because the nameboard, the flight tracking and the agreed price remove every failure point that matters at that moment. Staying at a resort whose shuttle price you are happy with — take the shuttle.

What a fair fixed price should include

Whoever you book with, a quoted “all-in” transfer price should cover tolls, parking, an air-conditioned vehicle, and a named meeting point — and any surcharges should be stated before you commit.
