Bali Airport to Candidasa Transfer — Door to Door, $210 Fixed
There is no scheduled public shuttle from Bali Airport (DPS) to Candidasa; a private transfer is the practical option and costs a fixed $210 for up to 4 passengers. The 62 km drive takes 90 to 130 minutes, with nameboard meet & greet, flight tracking, tolls, and bottled water included.
Why Private Transfer Is the Default for Candidasa
Candidasa is east Bali’s quiet resort strip — a line of seafront hotels, dive shops, and warungs on the old coastal road, favoured by travellers who find Sanur too busy. That quietness has a cost: no airport bus, no scheduled shuttle, and metered taxis are reluctant to run 62 km east without haggling a return fare on top. Ride-hail apps will quote the trip, but drivers frequently cancel once they see the distance, and finding a car back can be harder still.
A fixed-price private car removes all of that. You are met inside the arrivals hall with a nameboard, your flight is tracked so delays don’t cost you the booking, and the $210 price agreed on WhatsApp is the price you pay — tolls, parking, and airport fees are already in it.
Candidasa Transfer Prices by Vehicle
Fixed per vehicle, one way — a set price rather than a Candidasa taxi fare haggled at the curb. The standard car is about Rp 3.42 million at current exchange rates.
| Vehicle | Seats | One-way price |
|---|---|---|
| Toyota Innova / similar | up to 4 | $210 |
| Hyundai Staria | up to 6 | $300 |
| Toyota Alphard | up to 5 | $420 |
| Denza D9 (Electric Luxury MPV) | up to 6 | $485 |
| Mercedes V-Class | up to 6 | $530 |
| Mercedes S-Class / BMW 7 | up to 3 | $745 |
Round-trip bookings take 5% off the combined total. A pickup between 22:00 and 05:00 adds $5, paying by card adds 3%, and each extra stop en route is $10. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pickup. Rates for every destination we serve are listed on Bali Airport Transfer’s pricing page.
62 km Along the East Coast Bypass
The drive is straightforward and mostly flat: out of the airport, around Sanur, then onto the Prof. Ida Bagus Mantra bypass that hugs the coast past Gianyar and Klungkung. You’ll pass Goa Lawah — the bat-cave temple directly beside the road, usually with ceremony umbrellas out front — then the turn-off for Padangbai harbour before the road narrows into Candidasa’s hotel strip. In normal traffic it is 90 minutes; leave the airport in the 16:00–19:00 rush and the first 20 minutes can stretch the trip toward 130.
Candidasa also works as a base or overnight stop for onward travel. Guests catching a morning fast boat to the Gilis often sleep here rather than gambling on a same-day connection — the harbour is only 20 minutes back up the road, and our airport to Padangbai ferry port transfer page explains the boat timings in detail. Divers continuing to the far east coast can compare this route’s longer sibling to Amed.
Stops That Make Sense on This Route
Because the transfer is short by east-Bali standards, many guests add one stop and still arrive before check-in. The natural candidates: Goa Lawah temple (right on the road, 20–30 minutes with a sarong provided at the gate), the Tirta Gangga water palace up beyond Candidasa, or a late lunch on the strip before your villa opens. Each stop is a flat $10 added to the fare — tell us when you book so the driver builds the time in rather than improvising at the roadside.
If your itinerary leans sightseeing-heavy, mention it on WhatsApp; the same car and driver can often be booked for a Taman Ujung and Tirta Gangga loop later in your stay, quoted separately from the transfer.
Reserve Your Car Before You Fly
Message +62 811 2859 0000 on WhatsApp with your flight number, date, hotel in Candidasa, and passenger count — the desk operates 24/7 and replies with your driver’s name and plate ahead of arrival. There is also an online booking form if you’d rather type it once. Payment goes to the driver on arrival: cash in IDR or USD, or card with the 3% fee. Since cancellation is free up to 24 hours out, locking in your car early is risk-free.
Candidasa Transfer Questions
Is there a shuttle from Bali Airport to Candidasa?
No scheduled shuttle or public bus runs from DPS to Candidasa. Your realistic options are a metered taxi (with negotiation for the long distance), a ride-hail app (drivers often cancel 62 km trips), or a fixed-price private transfer at $210 including tolls and meet & greet — which is why nearly all Candidasa hotels recommend pre-booking a car.
How far is Candidasa from Bali Airport, and what is the taxi fare?
62 km, almost all of it on the fast coastal bypass. The drive takes 90 minutes in normal conditions and up to 130 minutes if you depart during the 16:00–19:00 airport rush. A counter or metered taxi will typically negotiate a similar or higher one-way fare with no fixed quote; our private car is a set $210 including tolls. Late-night arrivals see the quickest runs, with the $5 night surcharge applying between 22:00 and 05:00.
Can the driver stop at Goa Lawah or a supermarket on the way?
Yes — each stop is a flat $10. Goa Lawah temple sits directly on the route and takes 20–30 minutes; a supermarket run in Klungkung or a lunch stop on the Candidasa strip works the same way. Request stops when you book so they’re planned into your pickup-to-door time.
