The Route: What You’ll See Between DPS and Uluwatu

Leaving the terminal, your driver joins Jl. Bypass Ngurah Rai heading south past Kedonganan, where the fish market and beachfront seafood grills mark the start of Jimbaran Bay. The road then climbs the Bukit Peninsula on Jl. Uluwatu, passing Udayana University before the entrance to GWK Cultural Park — look left as the car gains height and you’ll catch the giant Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue above the treeline.

From the GWK junction the route runs through Ungasan and into Pecatu, where surf shops and warungs gradually replace offices and showrooms. The last stretch crosses the Padang Padang bridge onto Jl. Labuansait — the strip that leads to Uluwatu Temple, Suluban Beach and most of the clifftop villas people mean when they say “staying in Uluwatu”.

Bali Airport to Uluwatu — Questions Travellers Ask

How long does the drive from Bali Airport to Uluwatu take?

The 23 km drive takes 45–75 minutes. Early mornings and late nights run near 45 minutes; the 16:00–19:00 sunset window, when temple and beach club traffic peaks, can need the full 75. Your driver checks conditions before leaving the airport and picks the better of the Jimbaran-side approaches.

Where exactly will the driver drop me in Uluwatu?

As close to your door as the road physically allows. For villas in the lanes off Jl. Labuansait that usually means the gate itself; for cliff guesthouses at Bingin or Suluban it means the clifftop parking, with the driver helping you to the stairs. Share your accommodation name when booking and we confirm the drop-off point in advance.

I land after midnight — can I still get a transfer to Uluwatu?

Yes. The airport desk operates 24/7 and night arrivals are common on flights from the Middle East and Australia. Pickups between 22:00 and 05:00 carry a $5 surcharge, and the empty roads mean you’ll reach the Bukit in roughly 45 minutes.
