What You’ll See Between the Airport and Sanur

Sanur is one of the easier arrivals in south Bali because the route barely touches the island’s worst traffic. From the terminal, your driver joins the Ngurah Rai Bypass heading east, skirting the edge of Kuta rather than going through it. You’ll pass the Pesanggaran industrial strip and the turn-off to Benoa Harbour, where cruise ships and fuel tankers sit off to your right.

The prettiest stretch comes next: the protected mangrove forest around Suwung, where the bypass runs between walls of green for a couple of kilometres. Keep an eye out for the bridge turn-off to Serangan — locals still call it Turtle Island. When the bypass jams here, your chauffeur can swing onto the Bali Mandara toll road at Benoa instead; the toll is already inside your fare, so there is nothing extra to pay.

You’ll know Sanur has started when the ICON Bali mall appears on the bypass. From there it is a few minutes into the beach village itself — down Jl. Hang Tuah for the north end, or into the Jl. Danau Poso and Jl. Danau Tamblingan strip for the centre and south. Sanur’s beach strip runs on a partial one-way system, so your driver may loop in from what feels like the long way around. That’s normal, not a detour.

Traffic to Sanur by Time of Day

The 35–60 minute spread on this route is almost entirely about when you land, not how far you’re going.

If you can choose your flight, landing before mid-afternoon means you’ll clear the bypass before the evening peak and arrive at your hotel with daylight to spare.

Where We Drop You Off in Sanur

Drop-off works a little differently depending on where in Sanur you’re staying, and our chauffeurs know the quirks of each pocket:

Heading straight to a Nusa Penida or Lembongan fast boat instead? That pickup point sits at the north end of the beach — see our airport to Sanur Harbour transfer for that exact run.

How to Book Your Sanur Transfer

Message our 24/7 airport desk on WhatsApp with your date, flight number, passenger count, and hotel name — or book online and we’ll confirm the same way. Before you land we send your chauffeur’s name, photo, and plate number. Because we track your flight, an early landing or a delay changes nothing: your nameboard is at the arrivals exit when you walk out. Bali Airport Transfer is operated by Bali Premium Trip, running private airport pickups since 2015, with English-speaking chauffeurs on every route.

Bali Airport to Sanur — Common Questions

How much is a transfer from Bali Airport to Sanur?

A private car is a fixed $110 for up to 4 passengers in a Toyota Innova or similar, rising to $385 for a Mercedes S-Class. The fare is per vehicle and includes the nameboard meet & greet, flight tracking, tolls, parking, and bottled water — there’s nothing to add at the kerb.

Where does my driver meet me at Bali Airport?

Directly outside the arrivals exit, holding a nameboard with your name on it. We track your flight, so the board is there if you land early and it stays if you’re delayed. If you can’t spot it among the crowd, message the 24/7 airport desk on WhatsApp and we’ll guide you in real time.

Can we stop at a supermarket or ATM on the way to Sanur?

Yes. An extra stop along the route is $10 — handy for a SIM card, cash machine, or grocery run before you check in. Just mention it when you book so your chauffeur plans the stop on the way rather than doubling back.

How long does the drive from Bali Airport to Sanur take?

Plan on 35 to 60 minutes for the 16 km run down the Bypass Ngurah Rai. Off-peak it’s closer to 35; the evening rush from 5pm and weekend check-in traffic push it toward an hour. Because we track your flight and the fare is fixed, a slow crawl never changes the price you pay.
